Pioneer Era (1900-1913)

The Wright brothers were the first to achieve the dream of flight; followed by the world’s greatest aviation innovators, such as Voisin, Farman, Curtiss, Bleriot, etc.

In building and flying these early aircraft, we honor and pay tribute to the designers, craftsmen and adventurous pilots of the 1903-13 period. Many of these famous aircraft perform in our Saturday shows much as they did in their day.

In this jet age, it is difficult for our youth to visualize any other kind of flying. Children can actually see these hard-to-believe aircraft fly and how early aviation developed – an exciting, educational and revealing experience.

Below you will find a list of Pioneer Era aircraft that are currently part of the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome collection. Click on the associated links for additional information.
