Jim Hare was a longtime Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome employee. He spent his life as the museum’s greatest advocate, primary announcer, and cheerleader. His personality was infectious and his zest for life was contagious. Jim was an active volunteer in his community, a friend to all, and his family and Aerodrome family meant the world to him. This $1,000 scholarship is funded by the generosity of Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome volunteers, friends of Jim, and the Rhinebeck Aerodrome Museum Board of Trustees. To be eligible students must:
- Be a graduating senior from a High School in Dutchess County.
- Have been an active participant in the culture of their school and/or community.
- Have been accepted to a two, or four-year college, or recognized field of post-secondary study.
- Complete the attached questions and submit a short personal statement of no more than two paragraphs reflecting on the personal statement guidelines.

As stated previously, Jim Hare believed in volunteerism and community. His family came first in his life and he was a wonderful father and friend. He had a passion for history and vintage aviation, but always made time for music. Jim’s passion for life was contagious. In a short personal statement, describe how you believe you embody any or all of these qualities, how they are important, and why you believe you should receive this scholarship:
