What to Expect
We are a living, working airfield and Museum operating in an authentic setting. Bring your camera–there is no other aviation Museum quite like the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. Weekdays there is no scheduled flying but you may see test flights and our mechanics doing maintenance. We’re always happy to talk with you. On Air Show weekends, activity starts around 10 AM with shows beginning at 2 PM and lasting until about 4 PM. Benches are provided, or you may bring your own seating. Our climate controlled Visitor Center and Gift Shop is open, the Aviation Grill opens at 11 AM. Family friendly restroom facilities with changing tables are available. We are pet friendly, water is available next to the gift shop. Please always keep pets on leashes and under control. Please note that we have very noisy airplanes, automobiles, and the occasional gunshot or explosion.
There is convenient and free parking near the Museum buildings, which house the static display collection and is just across the street from the airfield with the flying collection.
We’re in a Unique and Historic Area.
You can spend days exploring our Valley. The best way to plan your extended visit is through the wonderful folks at Dutchess Tourism. You’ll find all the attractions, lodging and dining options at their website.
