The Spartan was a very good example of the average general aircraft developed up to 1929. It was rugged, dependable, and it performed a wide variety of services. FOB price, Tulsa OK, in 1929 was $6,750.00.
Cole Palen acquired the bones of the Aerodrome’s Spartan in 1972 in MA, where it had been in storage for thirty-five years. Early Aerodrome enthusiast and superb craftsman, E. Gordon Bainbridge restored the aircraft for Cole and it flew again in August of 1974. It is presently on display in our Lindbergh Era Museum building.
